In a message, Dr. Komsari said that “we are thankful to God the Almighty who has not let the ship of revolution to go astray time and your selection as a leader will pull the nation out of all troubles and difficulties.
The Islamic revolution has been founded by Imam Khomeini on foundations of wisdom and has passed through storms over the past decades.
Dr. Komsari prayed and hoped that Mojtaba Khamenei will be continuation of late Imam and martyred Ali Khamenei’s path.
Elsewhere in the message, Dr. Komsari also strongly denounced the ongoing against the ongoing US and Israeli aggression.
The Assembly of Experts earlier said that immediately after the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and despite wartime conditions, enemy threats, and a bombing of the Assembly’s offices, it did not hesitate in selecting a new leader.
In line with its constitutional and internal duties, the Assembly swiftly took the necessary steps to convene an extraordinary session and appoint the successor, the statement added.
Following Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s assassination, a three-member temporary leadership council—including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei—led the country until a new leader was chosen.
The United States and Israel launched their ongoing war of aggression against Iran on February 28. In addition to killing top military commanders, their strikes have killed more than 1,300 civilians, hitting residential areas, schools, and hospitals across the country.
