Shams Al-Ahmad's memory of the press meeting with Imam Khomeini
Shams Al-Ahmad has narrated the following about this meeting:
On the 14th of Bahman 1957, two days after the Imam's arrival in Iran, members of the Etelaat newspaper went to visit the Imam.
With the height of the Islamic Revolution, Mr. Khomeini came to Iran. At that time, I was sick and was hospitalized at home. The Imam settled in the (Alavi) school. I followed his news from the newspaper, radio, and television. The thirst and eagerness of the people to see him was indescribable. I was also very eager. At that time, a group of members of the Iranian Writers' Association - from which I had resigned at the beginning of the revolution after seeing some issues - went to see the Imam, and the news of this was reported in the press. At that meeting, the Imam paid attention to Mrs. Simin Daneshvar and spoke a few words to her.In those days, I was jealous of those who went to see the Imam, and Ms. Daneshvar would tease me that I went to see the Imam and you didn't.
