Iran’s regional approach cooperative, not exclusive
First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref says that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always maintained a regional perspective based on cooperation and has never pursued an exclusive approach
Aref made the remarks during his visit to the National Petrochemical Company, the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL), and the Food and Drug Administration on Thursday.
Referring to Iran’s approach in the Strait of Hormuz, Aref said that the Strait of Hormuz is the rightful property of Iran.
“Although we have not fully utilized this strategic asset over the years, we are now committed to asserting control over it. The Islamic Republic of Iran has made the decision to manage the Strait of Hormuz based on international law, strategic considerations, and economic factors. This management will ensure the security of this waterway and benefit all countries in the region,” he added.
Aref said that Iran is not only focused on its own development but also aims to create conditions in the region following the Ramadan war that promote cooperation among all regional countries, adding, “Our goal is to transform the region into an economic hub. We are fully prepared to work with our southern neighbors to ensure regional security.”
Emphasizing that the Iranian people are the true victors of the Ramadan war, he added, “We will soon hold a celebration of our victory, and the sanctions and pressures imposed on the Iranian nation over the years will be lifted with the great victory of the Iranian people.”
