President Pezeshkian hails Iraqi people for ‘brave’ solidarity with Iran
President Masoud Pezeshkian has commended the Iraqi people for standing alongside Iran during the ongoing US-Israeli aggression, describing their support as “brave” and rooted in deep historical and religious ties.
“The Muslim people of Iraq have bravely stood alongside Iran in this unjust war. This this solidarity stems not from geographic necessity, but from shared history, identity, and religious values. I warmly shake the hands of the people, officials, and fighters of Iraq in Mesopotamia. I honor your steadfastness and cherish our shared commitment,” the Iranian president said in a X post on Tuesday. He shared the post in both Persian and Arabic languages.
A day earlier, Iraq sent humanitarian supplies to Iran as the country is facing the US-Israeli war of aggression.
The aggression began on February ۲۸ when Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on his office and residence in the heart of Tehran.
Iran has responded powerfully to the attacks by striking US military assets and positions inside Israel. Iran has also maintained control of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the global oil demand is met.
