President Masoud Pezeshkian in a message has urged the world to decide which side pursues negotiation, and which resorts to terrorism.
“Just as I was addressing the American people, the head of our Strategic Council on Foreign Policy was targeted in an assassination attempt, leading to the martyrdom of his innocent wife,” President Pezeshkian wrote on his X account late on Friday.
“Let the world judge; which side engages in dialogue and negotiation, and which in terrorism?” he added.
Kamal Kharazi, the head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations of Iran, was injured during US-Israeli airstrike on residential buildings in Tehran on Wednesday.
Kharazi’s wife was also martyred in the US-Israeli aggression.
Ever since the beginning of the imposed war on Iran on February 28, the Israeli and US terrorist regimes have assassinated several military and civilian officials of the country.
During the process, they have deliberately targeted civilian infrastructures, including bridges, schools, medical research centers, and hospitals, as well as historical sites and mansions. The US and Israeli terrorist regimes have also indiscriminately targeted civilians, ranging from newborns to the elderly.
In response, the Iranian military has been hitting the US’s and the Israeli regime’s military centers and interests in the region.
