Seyyed Hashem al-Shakhs, prayers leader of Mostafa Mosque in Saudi Arabia, believes that Imam Khomeini revived many religious teachings which helped Muslims to get united.

Imam Khomeini revived many teachings existed in Islam to help unite Muslims, Al-Shakhs said.

"Imam focused on the issue of unity to approximate hearts of Shias and Sunnis," he said to Jamaran website reporter. "That was a great job, indeed."
On challenges facing the road toward unity in the Islamic world, the Saudi Arabian prayers leader said that internal conflicts were one of them.
"Should Muslims leave behind internal differences and avoid schisms, they could attain unity."
For example in Lebanon case, Muslims could foil plots of the United States when they forget about differences.
"They did so that the Zionist regime did not dare to attack Lebanon anymore," he said.
He warned that some governments play a negative role in this regard, stirring discord among Muslims due to their prejudice, adding that some foreign hands are also interested in fanning the flames of discords in the Islamic world.
"Each side (Shia or Sunni) should stay away of stirring differences," Al-Shakhs advised, recommending Muslims to focus on increasing kindness rather than sectarianism among themselves.
