Weekly Topic: Status of people and nation in Imam Khomeini's thought

Imam Khomeini's political thought had been established on nation's contribution and therefore  he had a very strong faith in people's role in forming and strengthening a government . and system.

A frequently used to emphasize that the people are real owner of this country and the revolution.
Imam has explicitly said in his messages and speeches that "the true criterion is People and nation's vote".

.This expression shows that Imam believed that  the" legitimacy and function of system without the presence of people doesn't find its true sense "

.Imam on another occasion said that "it is the nation which determines Its destiny and fate"

.During the struggle for the Islamic revolution,  Imam deemed that victory was only possible with the presence of People annd public messes

.He once said that" with reliance on the  nation this movement would emerge Victorious "

Imam also emphasized on this belief (decisive ole of people) even after the victory of Islamic revolution.  Imam frequently warned and remindedt hat the authorities and officials shouldn't distance from the publicpublic.

Imam said that "the service to people is reat worship and officials should consider themselves as a servant of the nation".

From Imam Komeni's viewpoint the Islamic government is only real and genuine when it relies on people
Imam once said that "the Islamic Republic is relied on the people's vote".

The role and contribution of the people has also been explained In  his famous book "Jurist Guardianship annd Islamic governance" as following" The country affairs should be run with the vote and views of the people but within the boundaries of Divine rules and laws"

.In Imam's  dynamic thought, the people are not only considered "a political element but also are of Divine essence and form foundations of Islamic Society"

Imam furthermore elucidates and sheds light on relation between the people and the Islamic government by saying that "protection of the Islamic government remains with the "support and  backing of the nation. If there is no nation, the Islamic government will also not last and endure"
