Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic frequently  used to issue historic messages on 27th Rajab which marks holy prophet's appointment to the Prophetic Mission.

According to Imam Khomeini, one of major objectives of the mission of the holy prophet of Islam was the perfection of morality. Ethical and moral excellences have been given more importance than anything else after doctrinal teachings.

The holy prophet of Islam once said in a famous tradition that “I was only sent to perfect moral character”.

This is the auspicious day when the Archangel Gabriel, appeared with the first verses of the Holy Qur'an:

"Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, Created man from a clot. Recite and your Lord is most Generous, Who taught (to write) with the pen. Taught man what he knew not." Holy Qur"an (96: 1-5).

Imam Khomeini also used the occasion to remind the Muslim ummah about divine characters of the holy prophet of Islam and his infallible successors.

According to the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Prophet Mohammad, whose mission was foretold by all previous prophets over the different parts of the world, was sent by God with the universal message of Islam, for all humanity.

As the Messenger of Mercy, the holy prophet of Islam preached brotherhood of humanity.

Following selected excerpts from Imam Khomeini’s sayings indicate that one of the major objectives of the holy prophet’s mission had been to undertake struggle against oppressors and exploiting powers.

“God’s blessing and peace be upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad who rose against pagans and oppressors alone, and hoisted the flag of unity in favor of the poor; he didn’t fear the lack of forces or the limited number of his companions while he had no military equipments. He attacked rebellious and wicked oppressors only with the power of faith and decision-making, and in less than half a century, he delivered the message of unity to the greatest inhabited areas of the world.”

“Islam is so dear and so great that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his holy household sacrificed their whole lives and all they had for its sake.”

“Despite all his exhausting efforts and sufferings in the way of the divine cause, the great Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH), never ceased and withdrew from jihad with oppressors until the end of his life.”
